Why SmartWeigh

SmartWeigh differs from commonly found truck scales in several ways:

Truck scales are platform scales, which only give you the weight per axle. Individual wheel weights are necessary to identify and resolve side-to-side balance and tire loading issues. Truck platform scales can actually give you a false “safe” indication and allow you to operate with one or more tires overloaded.

Utilizing the SmartWeigh program helps ensure your RV is loaded within safe limits, enhancing your safety on the road. By knowing your individual wheel weights, you can adjust loading to prevent tire overloading and imbalance, which can lead to tire failure and other safety issues. The personalized consultation provides tailored advice to address any specific concerns related to your RV's weight and load distribution.

Our fees for SmartWeigh are higher than truck scales because of this extra effort and the one-on-one consultation you receive with each weighing.

Because of our unique method of weighing, you are able to determine the tongue weight of your tow vehicle using the data we give you.

How SmartWeigh Works

  1. Choose your plan:

  2. Request your appointment at one of our three SmartWeigh locations: Livingston TX, Bushnell FL, or Congress AL.

Currently, we are unable to offer weighing on a “will-call” basis. In other words, you can’t just drive up anytime and get weighed. The weighing staff and equipment will only be available at the permanent weigh site operating times and noted events listed on the Event Calendar page (look for Escapade and Boot Camp). In the future, we hope to be able to offer more weighing opportunities at more locations. Please be patient as we develop the program and expand it. 2. Let SmartWeigh work for you. Keep your appointment and let us weigh your RV. Within a single appointment, you can have your tow vehicle weighed, your trailer weighed, and the weight when your trailer is hitched to your tow vehicle. The same method can be used with motorhome and towed vehicles.|
