The Announcement
What is happening?
Choice Hotels International has entered into an agreement to acquire Harvest Hosts and its family of brands. The transaction is expected to close on October 1, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
Why is Choice Hotels acquiring Harvest Hosts?
Choice Hotels serves many travelers who also participate in RV travel. Harvest Hosts gives Choice a way to expand into outdoor and RV travel while supporting the continued growth of a distinctive membership business and community.
Why does a hotel company want an RV membership business?
Many travelers enjoy both hotel and RV travel. Approximately two million Choice Privileges members have participated in RV travel in the past 12 months, creating a natural overlap between the two communities.
What this means for Harvest Hosts
Will Harvest Hosts still operate independently?
Yes. Harvest Hosts will continue to operate as a standalone business within the Choice Hotels portfolio, preserving its brand, product experience, leadership, and direct relationships with members and Hosts.
Will the Harvest Hosts brand change?
No. Harvest Hosts will continue to operate under the Harvest Hosts brand name.
Is Harvest Hosts being integrated into Choice Hotels?
No broader integration into Choice Hotels' hotel operations is being announced as part of this transaction. Harvest Hosts will continue to operate as a standalone business.
Who will lead Harvest Hosts?
Joel Holland will continue to lead Harvest Hosts. The existing leadership team will remain in place.
Will the Harvest Hosts team change?
No jobs are expected to be impacted by the acquisition. The Harvest Hosts team will become Choice Hotels employees upon close while continuing to support the standalone Harvest Hosts business.

Is Choice Hotels buying campgrounds or RV parks?
No. Harvest Hosts is an asset-light membership business built around a network of independent Host locations. Choice is not acquiring physical campgrounds or RV parks through this transaction.
