Harvest Hosts — Tips to Maximize Hosting and Attract More Visitors 🛠️
To help Hosts succeed, we recommend focusing on the Four P’s — Photos, Parking, Products, and Pricing.
1. PHOTOS 📸 – Help Your Listing Stand Out
Most people are visual decision-makers. Listings with clear, inviting photos consistently receive more views and booking requests.
Must-have images:
A wide shot of your business exterior and any visible signage
The area where RVers should park (with space size shown, if possible)
Any products for sale (wine bottles, baked goods, farm produce, etc.)
Any unique features like animals, scenic areas, or friendly staff
2. PARKING 🚐 – Set Expectations, Avoid Confusion
Clear parking instructions give guests peace of mind and help you avoid late-night questions or parking mix-ups.
Include in your profile:
Type of surface (gravel, grass, paved, etc.)
If leveling blocks are needed
Specific parking instructions (“Park near the red barn on the right”)
Whether large rigs or trailers can be accommodated
3. PRODUCTS 🛍️ – Show Off What You Sell
One of the most effective ways to generate revenue from RV guests is by letting them know exactly what’s available to buy before they arrive.
List items like:
Wine, cider, beer, or spirits
Eggs, jams, honey, fresh produce, or baked goods
Tours, tastings, or workshops
Artisan products or handmade goods
Meals, snacks, coffee, or food trucks
4. PRICING 💵 – Encourage Sales with Transparency
While the first night is free, RVers are encouraged to support Hosts through a purchase. Including product pricing helps travelers plan and makes them more likely to buy something on arrival.
If you accept donations, let guests know what they would support, such as "feed for the animals, the church mission, the animal rescue efforts, etc."
If you are ‘cash only’, please make sure to state that in your Profile, so Members can be prepared.
You can also embed links to your PayPal, Venmo, or other payment links by following these instructions:
You can include:
Price ranges (e.g., “Jams from $5”, “Wine tasting: $15/person”)
Package options (e.g., “3-pack of sauces for $20”)
Daily specials or seasonal availability
💫 Adding pricing to your profile builds trust and avoids awkward conversations at checkout.
What to Do Right Now
Edit Your Profile - Make sure your listing reflects the Four P’s — Photos, Parking, Products, Pricing — and add any missing info.
Set an Approved Stay Message - Save time by adding a short, friendly message to confirm stay requests or give helpful arrival info.
Best practices:
Share an emergency contact number (or preferred way to reach you)
Check in after arrival with a quick message or wave to make guests feel welcome.
Include your house rules and policies clearly in your auto-response or profile (e.g., pets, quiet hours, where not to go)
Encourage Open Communication 📞 - Establishing good communication with your guests ensures a smooth and enjoyable stay. Top Hosts make themselves accessible, welcoming, and clear about expectations.
Make Use of Guest Feedback 📢 - Your guests are a valuable source of insight. Use reviews and messages to learn what’s working — and what could be even better. Take note of trends. Feedback is one of the best tools for refining your Hosting experience and increasing bookings.
Ask Yourself:What did guests consistently enjoy?
Is there anything they wished they had known ahead of time?
Is there a small change I can make that would improve the experience?
