We have optimized the content on our Host Map to enable users to easily find an experience in a location that they will enjoy. Icons on our map represent Harvest Hosts/Boondockers Welcome Hosts, Campground Partners, Dumpstations, and Escapees Events.
Harvest Hosts - Host Types
Our Hosts are shown on the Map by icons associated with their Host Type.
We have seven types of Hosts for you to enjoy, depending on the membership you have purchased.
You can filter your searches by selecting the Host types you would like to see by checking the boxes beside each host type in the Host Type filter above the Discover Map.
Campground Partners
You will also see our Campground Partners on the map. These campgrounds offer our members discounts. They can be toggled on or off from the Discover Map by clicking the Other Stay Types filter above the Map.
Escapees Events
Escapees Events now appear on the map by default as orange calendar icons with a star. They are always visible and cannot be filtered out via Host Type, Campground Partner, Dates, or Map Layers. Icons automatically disappear after the event ends. If registration is open, clicking the event icon opens the event page, which includes a link to reserve a spot.
Dump Stations
Another icon that can be seen on our Map is the Dump Station icon.
To view Dump Stations on the map, choose Dump Stations in the Map Layers menu. Click on the Layers icon at the top right of the Map.
Then click on Dump Stations.
Pro Tip: Dump Stations will only show up on the Map when you are sufficiently zoomed into a local region.
Generic Search Locations
The last icon is associated with our Search function. When typing in a location or Host name, our system will begin suggestion results that match your search. Hosts & Campgrounds are shown first, then non-Hosts such as cities and general map locations.
